Jake Mirabito, born in Brisbane, Australia, began piano at age 4 under David Redfern. At age 10, Jake began learning trombone under Rob Anders at St. Laurence’s College, where he quickly grew to love the trombone. Jake progressed to Bass Trombone at age 12 and began learning from Tom Coyle, Bass Trombonist of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Jake graduated the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University where obtained a Bachelor in Music Advanced Performance under tutelage of Tom Coyle and Jason Redman, Principal Trombone of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Jake now regularly performs with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and in several interstate orchestras. As his day job, he works as an air traffic controller at Brisbane Airport.
Jake Mirabito is the Secretary of the Brisbane Excelsior & Windsor Brass Bands.
