
Jared Proellocks graduated with a Graduate Diploma of Education (Classroom and Instrumental Music) in 2011 after completing his Bachelor of Music (majoring in performance, minoring in conducting and arranging) from Queensland University of Technology in 2010. He currently teaches Instrumental Music at Villanova College, John Paul College and Northside Christian College. Over the years he has played tuba, euphonium and bass trombone for many ensembles, including the Queensland Medical School Orchestra, QUT Big Band, Carindale Salvation Army, and various freelance work. In 2012 Jared was invited to take part in the ‘Top Brass’ Band, on tuba, a band comprising of some of the best brass players from the East Coast of Australia. He is currently a member of (eight time) national brass band champions Brisbane Excelsior, and the Territorial Youth Band of the Salvation Army.
Jared has also had conducting experience, and is currently bandmaster of the Carindale Salvation Army Band, as well as various school ensembles. In his spare time he enjoys composing and arranging music, with his Brass Band music published by the Salvation Army in both Australia and the United Kingdom, and concert band works performed by school ensembles around Brisbane.
