One of XLCR’s ensembles rehearsing with Christopher Cook

Organist Christopher Cook invited Brisbane Excelsior to join him in a twilight concert in the Brisbane City Hall, a concept that was once a popular entertainment event in the city centre.

A small but appreciative audience were in attendance to listen to the band and several ensembles perform with the magnificant sounds of the Brisbane City Hall organ.

The program was:

* Pomp & Circumstance March No 1, Elgar – Brass & Organ
* Blythe Bells, Bach/Grainger/Wells – Organ
* Canzona Prima a5, Gabrieli ed. Romme – Organ & Brass
* Gigue Fugue in G, JS Bach – Organ
* In this Quiet Moment, Bosanko – Brass
* Adagio, Albinoni/Giazotto/Tomaso – Organ
* Excerpts from Concert I for Brass Band, Bourgeois – Brass
* Scherzo, Grand Choeur Dialogue, Gigout – Brass quintet and Organ
* Pictures at an Exhibition: The Great Gate of Kiev, Petrovich/Mussorgsky – Brass and Organ
