Brisbane Excelsior Incorporated has been awarded a $28,000 grant from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund, in its final round of grant awards for 2006. This is the second grant in two years received from this Fund.

The grant will be spent primarily on instruments with a particular focus on percussion – including a much needed vibraphone.

Over the past 4 years, the organisation has been successful in its grant applications to the value of $176,000 for purposes such as instrument purchases, concert productions, CD productions, with the major funding going towards a building up-grade of its home – The Windsor School of Arts.

Unfortunately, there has been no funding available for competition or overseas touring purposes.
